Here's Pittsburgh city government in a nutshell -- a city forum tonight on snow emergency plans has been cancelled, due to snow.

From the mayor's office:

(PITTSBURGH) Jan. 20, 2011   Due to the severe winter weather predicted for this afternoon, the informational community meeting regarding the City’s new Winter Storm Emergency Plan scheduled for 6:30 p.m. this evening at the Northside Senior Center has been cancelled.

Weather pending, the meeting has been rescheduled for:
6:30 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 27, 2011
The Northside Senior Center
Allegheny Square, 15212

The City of Pittsburgh’s Public Works and Emergency Management Departments planned four citywide community meetings in order to update the public on the City’s improved snow operations and Winter Storm Emergency Plan.

At the meetings, department representatives will present the City’s new snow operations during a declared snow emergency and indicate how the plan will affect residents. In addition, representatives will be available to take questions.
