Harris announces council reelection bid
City Council president Darlene Harris announced her reelection bid today, in a message to Democratic committee members. (The committee makes its endorsements March 6.)
The letter says in part:
“Most of all, I am proud of being able to deliver real results for our Northside. I take my job seriously not only to legislate, but also to advocate for our neighborhoods. We have dedicated over $3 Million in funds from the capital budget that will bring upgrades to our Northside neighborhoods. We have helped to protect public safety by ensuring that each neighborhood in our district has been given money for a set of security cameras. For the past five years, I have made an effort to personally attend every community meeting to be sure that the needs of the community are heard and met.”
