DALLAS -- Even first ladies aren't above trash talk.

Susan Corbett, the wife of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett, encountered her Wisconsin counterpart at a reception Saturday morning at Southern Methodist University in advance of today's Super Bowl game between the Steelers and Green Bay Packers.

"I hope you are having a really good day today," Mrs. Corbett told Tonette Walker. "Because you are going to have a really bad one tomorrow."

It's the third Super Bowl in six years for the Steelers and the Corbetts, who are carrying the banner for area politicians along with Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. They all arrived Friday on a Steelers team charter plane from Pittsburgh.

The politicians got their seats through the Steelers at face value, though they are going for three times that in the resale market. Mr. Corbett is paying for the trip with personal funds, while Mr. Onorato, who lost the governor's race to Mr. Corbett last fall and is not running again for county executive, is using a combination of personal and campaign funds, according to a spokesman. Mr. Ravenstahl is using a mix of personal and campaign funds.

None of the area members of Congress are attending, and U.S. Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey will be watching with President Barack Obama at the White House.

Aside from the game, the politicians' North Texas weekend consists of hopping from one party to the next. Mr. Onorato, who came with his wife, attended NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's colossal party at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas on Friday night. Mr. Corbett had several receptions on his plate for Saturday, starting with the SMU event hosted by former President George W. Bush, at the future site of his presidential library.

In addition to the first lady trash talk, Mr. Corbett said he engaged in some of his own with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, asking him his jersey size because the two made a wager that involves the loser wearing the winning team's gear.

In the afternoon, Mr. Corbett ducked into a party in Downtown Dallas put on by the host committee for next year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis and Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels -- himself a Monongahela native.

"It's great to see all the people from Pittsburgh -- and from all of Pennsylvania down here," said Mr. Corbett, who noted that his Shaler home was just eight miles from Heinz Field. "There are people from Harrisburg, people from Philadelphia down here. And it's great to come down here representing the commonwealth. The whole commonwealth is behind Western Pennsylvania."

And, naturally, the governor, who wore a Steelers pin on his sport jacket, offered an optimistic game prediction: Steelers 31, Packers 28.

"Close game but a lot of scoring," he said.
