As we've long established, there are two main cantilevers underlying Rick Santorum's pre-presidential run: staking out far-right territory on the issues, and being unafraid to take shots at other GOP contenders.
He does the latter in this new interview with the Daily Beast, questioning the bona fides of Mike Huckabee, who has to be considered the favorite for the Christian Right votes that Santorum also needs in Iowa. Here's the quote:
Gov. Huckabee doesn’t have a record on national security so what I’m saying is for someone who’s thinking about running for president I’m a much more known quantity and someone who is consistent.
