Drilling leads the week

Published by Tim McNulty on .

PipelineGood morning.

Check out the P-G's new site dedicated to Marcellus shale matters, called Pipeline. Lots of nice stories are there from yesterday's special edition on shale.

Meanwhile the NYT is roiling the shale scene by saying drilling waste is a threat to Pa drinking water.

Also from yesterday: Tom Corbett may be calling for spending cuts, but he's paying his top staff more than Rendell did.

From today: A look at how the Democratic and Republican campaigns for county executive are using the petition process to get their sealegs. Says the Raja camp's Mark Harris: Getting signatures "is absolutely our number one priority -- 1A is petitioning and 1B is raising money. But if you're not on the ballot the amount of money you raise does not matter."

Last night's Oscar telecast was a stinker, but at least the Corbett administration has released back tax credits to filmmakers. (Inquirer)

The Scranton Times-Tribune has a redistricting update, tilting toward their end of the state.
