Energy groups defend Altmire
A couple weeks after getting assailed in radio ads for his vote denying the EPA funding for pollution enforcement, McCandless Democrat Jason Altmire is getting supported in another round of ads, this time from two energy-industry lobbying groups.
The Secure Energy for America PAC (with many coal and related industry donors from PA and WVa) and a related group called Choose Common Sense have launched ads hailing Altmire for "preventing an EPA overreach that threatens jobs" and standing up to "extreme environmental groups."
You can listen to the ad here.
The groups have lately knocked Bob Casey for calls for increased Marcellus shale water testing and lauded Tom Corbett's plans to cut through regulatory red-tape.
