Daily Santorum 3/23/11

Published by Daniel Malloy on .

Now that he's free to appear on any network he wants, presidential hopeful Rick Santorum popped up on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Tuesday to offer his views on the Libyan bombing campaign. This appearance raised a very important question. Not what he thinks about Libya -- that's old news -- but rather: Does Santorum have a new haircut? The notion was first posited on Twitter by our news partner Jon Delano at KDKA and does, indeed, prompt some reflection in these parts. Above you will see a clip of his CNN appearance, and below, an AP photo of Santorum at CPAC last month:

It seems that Santorum is either going for more of an up-do these days, or someone backstage at CNN got a little aggressive with a blowdryer. You be the judge! (You also may be the judge if we're grasping for topics on a slow news day.)

The Schedule: It seems that Rick is laying low this week but he will be back in Des Moines on Saturday for the "Conservative Principles PAC Conference" hosted by Rep. Steve King, who holds quite a bit of sway in the Hawkeye State. Other possible presidential hopefuls on the dais for that event: Newt Gingrich, Haley Barbour (profiled expertly by our own Mackenzie Carpenter on Sunday), Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and John Bolton.
