The news that Google bypassed Pittsburgh and many other cities for its high-speed Internet promotion (remember Ravenstahl declaring "Google Day" and dozens of govt workers spelling out "Google" on Forbes?) isn't so disappointing. It seemed like a PR stunt by the company anyway.

What IS disappointing is the winner is Kansas City, Kan., instead of Kansas City, Mo. Why? Because we've been dying for an opportunity to mention the coolest-named mayor in the history of mayors: Sly James.
