Sorting out the shale commission
By now you've probably seen Don Hopey's remarkable story on new Department of Environmental Protection rules, issued secretly last week, that all Marcellus Shale inspection and enforcement actions must be pre-approved by top Corbett admin political appointees at the department. (See the story for copies of DEP memos.)
Former P-G'r Katie Park put together a sortable graphic that also launched today (click above) on the members of Corbett's shale commission. As we've noted before, despite the constant calls for a Marcellus fee or tax to help fill the state's budget decifit, the commission (which the guv announced in his budget address) isn't tasked with releasing any findings until a few days after the June 30 state budget deadline.
UPDATE: Jim Ferlo's now calling for am Inspector General review of the new regulatory rules.
