Ceoffe runs full time v Dowd
Anthony Ceoffe has resigned from his state government job to campaign full time against incumbent District 7 council Patrick Dowd, reports Charlie Deitch at City Paper. State employees generally need authorization to run for public office; Ceoffe sought permission to keep his job while running but was denied.
"You can't run a serious campaign in your spare time after work," a state administration department spokesman told Deitch. "It's not practical to think that campaigns for full time positions won't spill into a person's day job."
