Obama 33% approval in PA-12
In a survey of the battleground 12th district, Public Policy Polling found that President Barack Obama has a 33 percent approval rating and the health care reform bill is supported by just 28 percent of the district. The full poll will be released Tuesday, and PPP called the race "close" between Democrat Mark Critz and Republican Tim Burns, but those numbers certainly do not bode well for any Democrat -- even one with an ad proclaiming that he's against the health bill.
Presidential press secretary Robert Gibbs was asked at today's White House briefing what he thought of a Democrat running against the health care bill and he sidestepped the question. "I have not spent a tremendous amount of time looking at the ads in this," Gibbs said. "But I do not doubt that there will be people in this season that will campaign on a whole host of policy positions."
