Pataki with Burns tomorrow

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Former New York governor George Pataki will campaign in Greensburg tomorrow with 12th District Republican Tim Burns as part of his efforts to repeal the health care reform bill. The event is scheduled for the city's Sheraton Four Points hotel at 12:15.

Pataki served three terms as the state's governor, from 1995 through 2006. A possible 2012 presidential nominee, he has lately started a nonprofit called RevereAmerica that is doing a 50-state petition drive to repeal the bill.

We've questioned the viability of repeal drives before -- it probably can't happen until 2012 at the earliest, due to the sure Obama veto -- but that hasn't kept the issue from becoming a major campaign issue for Republicans, including the many Pa candidates (including Burns) who have signed a Club for Growth "Repeal It" pledge.
