Sestak up for first time

Specter

We may look back on Saturday, May 8, as one of the most significant dates in this year's Senate race.

Joe Sestak took his first lead over Arlen Specter in any poll we know of in today's Muhlenberg/Morning Call daily tracking poll -- 44 to 42%, with 14% undecided. Specter had been up earlier in the week and the two Democrats had tied in Friday's results.

The survey of 410 likely voters was done Tuesday through Friday, during the Sestak's ad tying Specter to Bush, Santorum and Palin starting running statewide.

Specter was in Pittsburgh Friday but did not take political questions.
