Pa Dem party chair T.J. Rooney is doing his best cornerback impression on Joe Sestak's win -- the guy who said a Sestak win would be "cataclysmic" now says “I hope you’ll all join me in supporting Joe and I look forward to getting him elected this November," according to PoliticsPa -- but repairing the wounds between Sestak and the Democratic establishment will be one of the big stories coming out of that race.
As a counterpoint, GOP establishment candidates Pat Toomey and Tom Corbett are holding a joint press conference at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin at 2 p.m. today.
At the same time, it shouldn't worry Sestak that much. As we noted last week, getting the support of Ed Rendell has been the kiss of death in statewide elections lately, and Sestak should be glad he didn't have the Dem hierarchy's support. Just ask Barack Obama.
