Now that Scott Conklin has finally been named the winner of the Dem Lt Gov race, here's Dan Onorato's statement on his now running mate:
“Scott Conklin became a State Representative because he was disgusted with the Harrisburg culture after the infamous legislative pay grab,” Onorato said. “Just as I took on an entrenched incumbent to become County Executive, Scott earned his seat by demanding reform and winning a ‘safe’ Republican seat.”
“I’m excited to have Scott joining me on the Democratic ticket this fall because together we can make reform a reality in Harrisburg – just as I’ve done in Allegheny County.”
Conklin, who represents the 77th legislative district, was first elected to the State House in 2006 after serving seven years as Centre County Commissioner.
In the State House, Conklin serves on the Environmental Resources and Energy, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Appropriations and Education Committees.
“I am pleased to have a running mate who shares a background in local government,” said Onorato. “Scott has served as a Centre County Commissioner, he recognizes the challenges local communities face and he shares my commitment to making government live within its means. Together, we can assure Pennsylvania families that our team has the determination, the experience and the record to clean up Harrisburg and revitalize our economy.”
