Toomey hits Sestak on job offer

Published by James O'Toole on .

From Jim O'Toole:

Republican Pat Toomey said today it would have been helpful for his U.S. Senate opponent, Democrat Joe Sestak, to have been more forthcoming at an earlier point about his White House job offer.

When asked about reports that former President Bill Clinton passed on an offer for Mr. Sestak to be appointed to an advisory board, Mr. Toomey said he hoped that was all there was to it. But he said if it were so innocuous, he wondered why it took so long for Mr. Sestak to detail it.

Mr. Toomey spoke at a Strip District news conference where he criticized Mr. Sestak's support of cap and trade legislation that he said would increase costs for small businesses.
